Boil Water Advisory<\/strong>: The City has issued a "Boil Water Advisory" for customers who were <\/span>\"\"<\/strong><\/span>without water today due to the construction on the south side of town. Please see the attached map of affected customers and read below for instructions on what precautions need to be taken. Affected customers will also have their doors tagged. If you have questions, contact City Hall at 232.582.6597 or for after hours concerns, call 911 to have the water dept paged.<\/span><\/p>\n

DRINKING WATER WARNING
\nBoyne City lost pressure and contamination may have occurred… BOIL YOUR WATER BEFORE USING
\nDue to a drop in pressure in the Boyne City water supply, bacterial contamination may have
\noccurred in the water system. Bacteria are generally not harmful and are common throughout
\nour environment. Corrective measures are currently being undertaken to correct the situation.
\nWhat should I do?
\nDO NOT DRINK THE WATER WITHOUT BOILING lT FltlST. Bring all water to a boil, let it boil
\nfor one minute, and let it cool before using, or use bottle water. l3oiled or bottled water should
\nbe used for drinking, making ice, brushing teeth, washing dishes, and preparing food. t3oiling
\nkills bacteria and other organisms in the water. Continue using boiled or bottled water until
\nfurther notice.
\nWhat happened? What is being done?
\nThese precautionary actions are being taken due to the lc,ss of water pressure in the water
\ndistribution system caused by the work to relocate the water main on May 5th 2021 Whenever,
\na water system loses pressure for any significant length of time, precautionary measures are
\nrecommended.
\nThe City of Boyne City is working to get pressure restored, and staff will be taking other
\nremedial actions such as flushing and collecting samples from around the
\nsystem. The samples will be collected to determine that the water quality meets, the strict
\ndrinking water standards. We will inform you when tests show no bacteria and you no longer
\nneed to boil your water. We anticipate resolving the problem within two days by May 7th, 2021
\nThis boilwater notice shall remain in effect until results from the sampling verify the water s
\nsafe to drink. Customers will be advised when the boilwater advisory has been lifted.
